Wings of Wind exists because travel information usually stops where travel gets complicated. We wanted a place that covers the departure, the middle, and the part where the plan falls apart.
Wings of Wind LLC is an independent publisher based in Woodburn, Oregon. We write travel guides, practical explainers and support material for people who move often: for work, for a long weekend, for a season, or for no particular reason at all.
The site is organised as a single journey rather than a pile of articles. GO helps you decide. MOVE gets you between places. STAY and DO cover the time on the ground. DISCOVER is the part that keeps people travelling. CHANGE is for when something goes wrong, and RETURN closes the loop.
Wings represent the freedom to go further. Wind represents movement, change and the unexpected turns that come with it. Wings for the journey. Wind for the unexpected.

Useful before impressive
A guide earns its place by saving someone an hour or a bad decision. Atmosphere is welcome, but it comes second.
Honest about the ordinary
We describe places on a wet Tuesday as well as in golden light. If somewhere is overrated, we say so plainly.
Nothing to sell
We do not take reservations, sell rooms, or run a marketplace. The site is supported by clearly labelled advertising and affiliate links.
Calm when things break
The CHANGE and RETURN sections exist because most travel writing stops at arrival. Ours does not.

Writing for us
We work with a small number of contributing writers each year, usually people who know one region properly rather than everywhere lightly. We are generally looking for first-hand practical writing: transport, neighbourhood knowledge, and honest accounts of trips that did not go smoothly. How we work with others
We work with tourism boards, transport operators, independent guides and photographers who can add first-hand knowledge to a guide. Partnerships never include paid placement inside editorial content, and no partner sees a guide before it is published.
