Cookie Policy
What cookies we use on this site, why, and how you can control them.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels, which work in a comparable way. They can be used to remember settings, keep a site working properly, or measure how a site is used. This policy explains what we use on wings-of-wind.com and why.
Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to function correctly, for example to remember basic technical settings or to protect forms against abuse. The site would not work properly without them, so they cannot be switched off through our site.
Preference cookies
These remember small choices you make, such as a display preference, so you do not have to reset them on every visit.
Analytics cookies
These help us understand, in aggregate, which pages are read, how visitors typically navigate the site and whether pages are working as intended. We use this information to improve our content and fix problems, not to build individual profiles for advertising.
Advertising banners and affiliate links
This site displays paid advertising banners via Travelpayouts. Clicking a banner opens the travel partner's website through a tracking link, and the partner may set a referral cookie. We may earn a commission from a resulting booking at no extra cost to you. We never share visitors' email addresses or personal data with advertising partners.
Any booking is a contract with the partner, not Wings of Wind LLC. The partner's terms and privacy policy apply, and all refund or cancellation requests must be made to the partner.
How long cookies last
Some cookies are session cookies that are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Others are persistent cookies that remain on your device for a set period, typically ranging from a few days to around two years, depending on their purpose, after which they expire and are not automatically renewed unless you continue to use the site.
Third party embeds
Some articles and guides may include embedded content from third parties, such as maps or video players. These embeds can set their own cookies, controlled by the third party rather than by us. We only use embeds from established providers and recommend checking their own cookie or privacy information if you want details of what they set.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies through their settings. General guidance for common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Preferences, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
You can typically choose to block all cookies, block third party cookies only, or delete existing cookies. Mobile browsers offer similar settings under their privacy or site settings menus.
What happens if you block cookies
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to behave oddly, for example forms failing to submit correctly. Blocking preference or analytics cookies will not stop you reading any article or guide, but it does mean any saved preferences will not persist and we will have less visibility into how the site is used, which can make it harder for us to identify and fix problems.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if the technologies we use change. Any update will be posted on this page with a new date. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more broadly. If you have questions, please use our contact page.
