FAQ

Questions we are asked most

Can Wings of Wind book or change my travel?
No. We are a publisher, not an agency or a booking platform. We do not hold reservations, we cannot see your tickets, and we cannot contact an airline, railway or hotel for you. What we can do is explain what usually happens next and what is worth checking first.
My trip has just been cancelled. Where do I start?
Start with the guide on what to do when your travel plans change. It sets out an order of operations for the first hour: secure where you will sleep, confirm what your operator is offering, then deal with the onward legs. Doing those in the wrong order is what usually costs money.
Do you accept payment from destinations or operators?
We work with partners on access and information, but never on paid placement inside a guide. No partner sees a guide before publication and no guide is written in exchange for a fee.
How do you choose the destinations you write about?
Mostly by where our editors actually travel, with a bias toward places that are reachable without a great deal of planning. We deliberately give space to second and third cities rather than only the obvious ones.
The information in a guide looks out of date. What should I do?
Tell us through the contact page and mention the guide title. Timetables, opening patterns and transport links change constantly, and reader corrections are the fastest way we hear about it.
Can I republish a Wings of Wind guide?
Not in full. Short quotations with a clear link back are fine. For anything longer, ask first through the contact page.
Do you have a newsletter?
Yes. It goes out every few weeks with one destination, one guide and one practical reminder. You can sign up from the bottom of most pages.
Which photographs do you use?
Real photographs only, licensed for reuse, with the photographer credited beneath the image. We do not publish computer-generated imagery of places or people.
